Hello, my photography friends!
This winter (I’m from Canada) has had me thinking a lot about personal growth and the nature of creativity.
This article I wrote explores 3 unique traits that many creative photographers share.
It was during a period of creative dryness in my photography business that I discovered a whole breed of photographers who had been able to express their creativity in surprising ways.
They brought every part of their life to their photography, found beauty in unlooked-for places, and got in over their heads. Their ideas were just what I needed to breathe new life into my own photography.
Check out the article and then hit reply to this email or leave a comment to let me know what you think :)
Take care!
Mat
PS - I recently launched a vlog where I talk about human nature and the creative side of photography while developing a roll of film.
It was all lost (along with several years of photography work) when the hard drive was destroyed.
More on that next time!
I enjoyed reading your last issue on creativity. It takes a lot of thought to bring more than just your gear but your whole self into photographing. Sometimes when I have dry spells I like to think of my why and push through. It helps to refocus.
